Well, it's been months since I updated, and what do I have for you? Pictures of me in Vegas and northern Arizona, plus the fact that I'm sick with a cold of doom. Seriously, it's like I never stopped blogging at all.
But first, hilarity.
Oh, McCain, how you hurt me with your complete and total ignorance of the fact that the internet exists and people can very easily look back at what you said months and months ago.
And now, vacation!
Lauren and Danielle are made of awesome. I was so, so glad I had Danielle to hang out with during the long wait for the meet and greet. It was a weird experience because, really, all I had to say was, "Yeah, I really like your new album." Like, there were girls there that were crying and in love with the guys in the band and that was just weird and I wasn't sure if I should comfort them or kick them in the ass and tell them to calm the hell down.
And that would be me kind of uncomfortable with Panic at the Disco. Really random, right? But seriously, their new album is totally mellow and melodic and laid back, not at all like the demented carnival theme of their first album, and they put on a really good live show. So you should go buy it.
Then we went to Las Vegas, and I don't have any pictures of that until I get them from Nicole and Tanni because I didn't carry my camera around. Instead I just drank a lot and won ten dollars at blackjack.
Then a cold snap hit the Southwest, which is why we're all wrapped up in the next few pictures. Also, I'm from Tucson and am a total wuss when it comes to being cold.
The Hoover dam is very cool and I think Tanni was excited to be able to use her new wrap that she got at this funky thrift shop in Vegas called The Attic. We spent nearly an hour digging through everything there and I almost got a pair of vintage cat eye glasses, but then decided it would be too expensive to get my prescription put into them so I didn't.
So I'm reading this book called "Death in the Grand Canyon" right? And apparently, people think of National Parks as amusement parks, like because there are rangers around they don't have to watch out for their own safety. So they walk right up to the edge of the Canyon and they're not scared because they're in this mindset that everything's safe and no matter what they do, they'll be fine, like they're at Disneyland instead of in nature. And then they fall over the edge and die.
Apparently, it's totally common for people to climb right over the guard rails and look through their viewfinders instead of where they're going so, you know, if you ever go the Grand Canyon, it's beautiful and you should totally enjoy it, but stay on the right side of the guard rails because it's a very, very long way down.
I think that's why I was so excited for Nicole to take a picture of me growling next to a dead tree. It ended up being one of my favorite pictures of me, though, so whatever. I'm still hopped up on DayQuil and I'm totally not sure if I'm making any sense or not.
I'll leave you with my other favorite song while I go find more cold medicine and get ready for work.
